On February 12, 2009, the NAACP marked its 100th anniversary. The NAACP headquarters, based in Baltimore, Maryland, along with its 1.700 units nationwide, will host celebrations and observances throughout the year ending on February 12, 2010, that highlight the significant role the organization has played in leading social change in America.
The Anchorage NAACP is very appreciative of the support of our community and endeavors to continue to fight for the equal rights of all people in our community. Our general membership meetings are held the THIRD Monday of each month at the John Thomas Building, 325 East 3rd Avenue, 7:00 pm.
